Holiday Fun Days
Taking place at Bryngarw Country Park, Brynmenyn, Bridgend every Wednesday from 23rd July to 27th August from 11am to 3pm. The fun days are for kids aged 7 to 11 years old. Children can take part in scavenger hunts and trails, craft workshops and face painting. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Summer Fun
Activities for children at Parc Slip Nature Reserve, Tondu, Bridgend. All activities will run between 10am and 12 noon. Children should wear suitable clothing and footwear. Children under eight years old should be supervised.

  • Get messy with mud on Wednesday 27th August

Garw Carnival and Rural Fair
The Garw Carnival and Rural Fair was reintroduced in 2007 after a 21 year absence. A huge success, attracting over 3000 people, it was a wonderful event featuring a stunning procession, stalls and live entertainment, set in the beautiful, picturesque Garw Valley, South Wales. The 2008 carnival looks to be bigger and better, featuring 2 days of entertainment and a new music festival featuring the best talent from the Bridgend area.

St Fagans: National History Museum

  • Food in the Iron Age from 16th to 17th August. Would you eat what the Celts had for lunch?
  • Woodcraft Day on the 16th August 2008.Watch local craftsmen carve love spoons and kitchen utensils
  • Toy-Time, 18th - 19th August, make a 'cup and ball' from recycled materials at the eco-friendly Ty Gwyrdd

Cardiff Castle

  • 16th to 17th August, step back into a medieval world that existed over 700 years ago. Stroll around a colourful encampment and find out more about domestic life, crafts and weapons of the Middle Ages as the Cardiff Castle Garrison sets up on site. Fantastic combat displays, a sword fighting school, have-a-go archery, authentic field and table games, juggling workshops and a puppet show will make this event a highlight of the summer holidays. And for some credible time-travelling, authentic costumes and armour are on hand for children to try on

St Nicholas Dyffryn Gardens

  • Monday 18th August, why not try your hand at juggling, unicycling, plate spinning, poi and much more under the expert guidance of the specialist tutors from NoFit State Circus. Suitable for children aged 8 to 16. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
