Super8 Athletics Event Debuts in Cardiff

Athletics history will be made tonight in Cardiff.

The first ever Super 8 competition takes place in Leckwith (7pm) - an inter-city event with a full programme, but condensed into just 2 hours.
It's being described as "the Twenty20 Cup of Athletics" and if the pilot is successful it could become a regular fixture on the calendar with cities bidding to host the event.

Over 10 of Britain's Olympic heroes will be in action as 8 cities do battle.
Cardiff will be captained by Welsh sprint king Christian Malcolm. They'll face rivals from London South, London North, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and Sheffield.
Super8 will act as the final selection event for the Aviva GB team for the European Team Championships.
Tickets are now on sale at £5 seating or £3 (standing) for adults, under 16-s are free, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult.
